Dear ______:

 The day Heather Ivey asks herself ‘how did I get here?’ is the same day she decides that there has to be more to life than what she’s got.  With the help of her three close friends, and every magazine she can get her hands on, she sets out on a zig-zaging path of self-discovery.  While she hopes to find some sort of new fulfillment, and maybe a boyfriend, she ends up realizing that life is what you make of it, not simply the result of stuff that happens.

 NOT DESPERATE IN DETROIT takes a look at a typical single girl’s daily life and her struggle to find her place in the world.  The untraditional narrative and urban characters fit into the ever-growing ‘ChickLit’ genre. 

 I have been a (writer group here) since 2020 and am a dedicated blogger.
